FTE 2012 was highly successful and received outstanding feedback from participants, but we listened to the feedback on how we could improve the event further and are making the following changes as a result:

As announced at FTE 2012, a new conference stream focusing on improving the passenger experience “Up in the Air” will run parallel to our traditional conference and workshops. This new conference will be chaired by Raymond Kollau, Founder of airlinetrends.com and primarily focus on big topic issues and particularly how technology can help improve the passenger experience onboard.

New speakers and unique conference session formats – We are working to provide fresh perspectives by introducing speakers from innovative organisations that have not presented before. The conferences will include workshops, presentation sessions, panel discussions, and the unique Unconference sessions utilised at FTE 2012 to great effect.

More Future focus – We will be working even harder to provide delegates a greater insight into how the world will change in the medium and long term, and how the travel sector will need to adapt to new technologies and consumer needs.

More conference sessions – The conference will now run over three days delivering even more content, value and networking time. The conference will also utilise an even wider array of formats to ensure compelling learning and interaction.

More launches from travel facilitators – Further to the official launch of Air Canada Mobile+ at FTE 2011 and easyJet’s Project Halo plans in 2012, we can confirm that a number of leading travel industry stakeholders will reveal their latest initiatives at FTE 2013 once more.

More emphasis on the exhibition – There will be even more emphasis on the exhibition with an official opening ceremony; exhibition showcase slots within the event schedule for vendors launching new solutions; plus more time on the exhibition floor to ensure delegates get a chance to see all the latest innovations on display.

More stakeholders involved – We will be bringing more travel industry stakeholders to the event from federal government agencies through to rail authorities and destination partners.

Grander FTE Awards and new categories – The FTE Awards ceremony will be bigger and better than ever. There will also be a new award category in 2013 – Best Up in the Air Experience 2013.

More media – We will be bringing even more media to the event to showcase the innovative efforts of the travel sector to improve the passenger experience.
