FTE Asia Awards 2019 finalists announced – 11 airlines and airports shortlisted


The shortlists for the Future Travel Experience Asia Awards 2019 have been revealed and feature a total of 11 airlines and airports from across Asia. The awards recognise the most customer-centric initiatives from the last 12 months and the winners will be revealed during an awards ceremony on Tuesday 12 November at the free-to-attend FTE-APEX Asia EXPO 2019 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. A Gold, Silver and Bronze award will be presented in each category.

The 2018 winners: Changi Airport Group, Haneda Robotics Lab, Vistara, Hamad International Airport, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, SpiceJet, Emirates and Air NZ were among last year’s winners. Who will be victorious in 2019?

Best Passenger Experience Initiative – Airline

  • AirAsia – Development and launch of AirAsia Virtual Allstar (AVA)
  • All Nippon Airways (ANA) – Autonomous wheelchairs at Narita International Airport
  • Japan Airlines – Improving passenger comfort with the new A350-900 cabin interiors
  • Qatar Airways – Mobility solutions to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Singapore Airlines – Enhancing wellbeing on ultra-long-haul flights
  • SriLankan Airlines – Wearable tech and smart accessories to improve the passenger experience

Best Passenger Experience Initiative – Airport

  • Changi Airport Group – Jewel Changi Airport
  • Dubai Airports – Launch of TaxiDXB service
  • Hamad International Airport – Smart Airport Programme, Phase 2
  • Hong Kong International Airport – IoT Augmented Airfield Service System (AS2)
  • Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru – Digi Yatra biometrics programme rollout
