Ditto empowers applications that have a strict reliance on internet, such as underwing maintenance, baggage scanning, crew collaboration, meal order, and more, to sync crucial data in real-time without any internet. On the tarmac, in hangars, or inside aircraft, internet access is not reliable. Flight and maintenance crews are constantly moving in and out of Wi-Fi or cellular service making it difficult for data to be shared. This can massively slow airplane turnaround time. Ditto’s offline capabilities can transform any business process into a network resilient, low latency, cloud-optional application so your employees can succeed even where the internet doesn’t reach.

What makes your products / services stand out?

Ditto greatly increases efficiency, reduces costs, and provides ancillary revenue opportunities for businesses within the aviation space by allowing crucial applications to sync with or without the internet. We are a unique database as we combine the best of cloud software with the best of peer-to-peer software to ensure your data is available everywhere, and at all times. Databases today are extremely reliant on the cloud for any type of reading, writing, or transfer of data. Ditto’s technology allows apps to operate normally regardless of connection; in the event that Wi-Fi goes down or cell connection is interrupted, apps embedded with Ditto automatically sync with nearby peers over offline networks to form mesh networks. Building applications reliant on Wi-Fi or cellular systems puts your business at risk from a single point of failure. Processes such as sharing completed task checklists, sending chat messages, syncing inventory, and receiving meal orders all traditionally need internet to be shared efficiently. Ditto empowers businesses to digitize their old processes, reducing costs and simplifying daily tasks. We increase efficiency within teams by allowing operations such as these to be completed and synced across team devices without any internet connection. We even create ancillary revenue opportunities for airlines by enabling meal order apps to sync directly from passenger to crew during the flight without needing Wi-Fi or network hardware.

What brings you to the EXPO this year?

Since we first attended FTE Global three years ago as a small startup, we have made great strides in the aviation industry. In 2021 at FTE Global, we partnered and presented with Japan Airlines as a Gold Sponsor to exhibit our incredible advancements in passenger meal order and cabin crew collaboration. Since then, Ditto has helped numerous businesses in the aviation space develop applications to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and create ancillary revenue opportunities. For example, underwing maintenance, baggage scanning, electronic flight bag, in-flight connectivity, passenger meal order, and more! We at Ditto understand that deskless workers don’t always have the best tech at their fingertips. That’s why we have made it our mission to empower deskless workers such as flight attendants and maintenance teams to do their work faster and more efficiently than ever before by giving them applications that aren’t hindered by spotty internet. We are excited to share our successfully deployed products, demo apps, and new use cases that we are working on. Come by the booth to chat!

Why should visitors come to your stand and what can they expect to see?

We at Ditto are extremely excited to offer live, cross-platform, real-time demos of our Intelligent Edge Platform at our booth this year. If your business is interested in use-cases such as real-time meal order, cabin crew collaboration, maintenance collaboration, and baggage scanning, stop by our booth to see what can be possible even without internet. Watch our team sync multiple iPads, iPhones, and Android devices while toggling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular networks on and off, showcasing the fantastic resiliency of our intelligent sync. We will also be playing videos describing what Ditto is, how we sync data and our major use cases. Our sales team is ready to exhibit blazing-fast peer-to-peer sync in our demo applications such as Inventory sync, Meal Order, Maintenance, and Chat without any need for the internet, so we hope to see you there!

What do you think is the biggest lesson that the industry will take away from the COVID-19 crisis?

In the time since the peak of the pandemic, it has become clear that continually investing in emerging technology is necessary for businesses that wish to be adequately equipped for the unexpected. Investing in innovative and emerging technologies is the best protection against downside risk in the event of a crisis such as Covid-19. In the case of the airline industry, companies were not prepared to make a complete switch to contactless solutions so quickly and were left scrambling, unable to conduct business. Businesses must continue to seek out, invest in, adopt, and train teams in innovative industry tech to ensure that, in the event of an extreme market downturn, teams are able to adapt quickly and continue to operate with success.
