Budapest Airport unveils Europe’s first MasterCard lounge

Europe’s first MasterCard airport lounge is located in the recently opened SkyCourt building in Budapest Airport.

The new MasterCard lounge at Budapest Airport is the first of its kind at a European airport and is exclusively available to passengers holding MasterCard premium credit cards.

Located in the recently opened SkyCourt building, the lounge offers services and facilities where passengers can either work or relax before boarding their flight.

“This is a great moment to open the first MasterCard lounge in Europe at our airport,” said Jost Lammers, CEO, Budapest Airport.

“This branded lounge will widen our offer and will increase comfort for passengers, and we are proud to support MasterCard in offering new services via using their credit cards. The opening of the MasterCard Lounge is an integral part of our strategy to develop Budapest Airport into the best hub in Central and Eastern Europe”.

I was waiting for a flight to Manchester at Budapest, and after looking at the lounges. I noticed the Mastercard logo on a lounge, then saw one of the staff coming out, and showed my Mastercard, I seem to remember a small fee to get access, but wow, yes, just what was needed. Pleasant surroundings, really pleasant service, and a great choice of food and beverage, plus wifi. Worth every penny, and I wish you every success with future lounges. As quite a regular traveller I will be keeping an eye on your progress, the new terminal and lounge complement each other, and will definitely visit again. Very impressed!!!
