Star Alliance launches Android app to provide single source of travel info
Android users can now make use of a Star Alliance app that includes the flight schedules of all member carriers, a flight tracking function, information on airport lounges and city guides.

Android users flying with any of the Star Alliance carriers can now get flight schedules, locate airport lounges and find out destination information in one place thanks to the launch of a new Star Alliance app for Android.

The app, which saves passengers having to download separate airline apps, also offers access to frequent flyer programme information, as well as additional benefits for Gold Status members.

The aim of the app, which was previously only available on iOS devices, is to provide a single source of vital travel information, including airport information and flight status updates.

While the Android app has been designed for smartphones, Star Alliance has confirmed that it is also working in the development of a Star Alliance Navigator App for Android-based tablets.

Star Alliance’s Vice President Customer Experience and Technology, Justin Erbacci, will take part in the Heathrow Airport Terminal Symosium at FTE Europe 2014, 3-5 March, in which he will explain how the soon-to-open T2 has provided unique opportunities for Star Alliance to leverage common use systems and processes.
