[Video interview] UrbanV CEO: “We are in the beginning of a new era of transportation and collaboration among companies in the ecosystem will be fundamental”

Last year, a new company focused on sustainable mobility was set up by Aeroporti di Roma, Aeroporto di Venezia, Aeroports de la Cote d’Azur and Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna. The new venture, called UrbanV (formerly Urban Blue), was launched with the aim to accelerate the development of urban air mobility infrastructures internationally. At last month’s FTE Air MobilityX Symposium, which took place during FTE Dublin 2022, FTE caught up with the company’s CEO Carlo Tursi to hear more about UrbanV’s plans to drive this new era of transportation. “These companies came together with a shared vision of leveraging their deep expertise in aviation ground infrastructure to champion the new emerging industry of urban air mobility,” he explains. “We are already quite active and engaged with a few projects and we are in the process of feasibility assessment and vertiport design in some of the cities of our founding shareholders. Rome will be the first one where we expect to deploy the initial infrastructure over the coming years.” Watch the full video to find out more.

The upcoming FTE Global 2022 show, taking place on 6-9 September 2022 in Las Vegas, will once again feature a dedicated Air MobilityX track to help industry stakeholders plan for eVTOL, drone and electric aircraft operations. Organisations confirmed to speak include McKinsey & Company, Teague, Odys Aviation, FlixBus, Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport, Ross & Baruzzini, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Paragon VTOL Aerospace, and many more.
