Taiwan trials automated border control

As announced by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Immigration Agency, seven new automatic border control systems will initially be trialled at the Shuitou Port in Kinmen before the trial is expanded to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport.

A total of 35 of the new automated border control systems will be introduced by the end of May with the aim of expediting the border control process.

Passengers must positively enrol for the scheme by submitting biometric data to the National Immigration Agency.
