SilkAir offers travel updates via Google Now


SilkAir’s online bookings will be integrated with Google Now, enabling travellers to easily access the latest information relevant to their specific journey.

SilkAir passengers who make a booking through the carrier’s website and supply a Gmail email address can now access a variety of information via Google Now.

Among the information they will have access to is live traffic information, flight status and gate updates, and destination guides including weather forecasts. Travellers need to have the Google Search App installed on their device in order to access the information.

SilkAir’s integration with Google Now follows a similar initiative by parent company Singapore Airlines in December 2013.

Ryan Pua, Vice President Commercial at SilkAir, commented: “We are pleased to have taken this step to integrate the bookings made on our website with Google Now.

“We are confident this will further enhance the travel experience of our passengers as they are able to receive important travel information conveniently.”

Future Travel Experience Asia 2014

FTE Asia 2014, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur from 1-3 December 2014, will include a conference session entitled: 'Leveraging mobile, wearable, biometrics and other new technologies before and after the flight itself to personalise and expedite the travel experience'. Senior speakers from the likes of Dubai Airports, Oman Air, Air France-KLM and SITA Lab are confirmed to share their passenger-focused plans and visions in this session.
