Kaunas Airport enhances security and CX with next-gen scanners making “process more efficient, faster and higher quality”

Kaunas Airport has installed three CT-based scanners, making the security process faster and more convenient for travellers as they no longer need to remove any electronic devices or liquids from hand luggage. The new devices analyse the contents of the baggage in a three-dimensional space.

Following a testing phase, the scanners have now been put into full use with all tuning work completed.

“New technology solutions at Lithuanian airports first of all ensure a higher level of aviation security, but at the same time improve passenger experience,” said Vidas Ksanas, Head of the Safety and Security Department, Lithuanian Airports. “Passengers no longer need to take liquids and electronic devices out of their bags, suitcases or backpacks – everything can stay inside the luggage. As a result, the screening process becomes more efficient, faster and of higher quality. In addition, certified devices are capable of automatically identifying even particles of explosive materials when checking all baggage.”

Lithuanian Airports will also install seven of the CT scanners in the new departure terminal at Vilnius Airport next year.
