Manchester Airport opens new bar and brasserie that is “fresh and modern, but also relaxed and comfortable”

Manchester Airport has opened a new bar and brasserie in its Terminal 2 departure lounge, which is described as “fresh and modern, but also relaxed and comfortable”, with a strong focus on regional produce.

A new bar in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 departure lounge is promising to bring passengers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the airport. The Evergreen Bar & Brasserie will be operated by SSP UK and combines stylish botanical décor with a menu inspired by local produce. It will be SSP’s first airside outlet in this terminal.

Named following a competition for Manchester Airport colleagues, the venue offers a premium pre-flight experience for departing passengers with a menu featuring artisan products.

“We want passengers to start their holidays when they arrive at the airport so we’re always looking to make sure we offer experiences to match every taste,” said Stephen Turner, Commercial Director, Manchester Airport. “That’s why we’re delighted to open The Evergreen Bar & Brasserie. The design of the restaurant is fresh and modern, but also relaxed and comfortable, providing customers with a memorable and distinctively Northern experience thanks to the focus on regional produce. Terminal 2 is the centrepiece of our transformation programme and will be used by over 70% of our passengers when it is complete, so we wanted to ensure we have a broad range of options for them to grab a bite to eat before they fly. This new restaurant offers something different to the existing offering in Terminal 2 while also supporting suppliers from across the North, and we are sure it will be a hit with our passengers.”

Located in the departure lounge’s main atrium, The Evergreen Bar & Brasserie is an open and relaxed space for passengers to start their journeys. Whether looking for a hearty breakfast with freshly brewed coffee or a sharing board and glass of wine at the feature bar, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.

The opening of the 144-seat restaurant comes as the airport continues to make progress on its £1.3bn transformation programme, which will more than double the size of the existing Terminal 2 when it is completed next year.

“We have partnered with Manchester Airports Group for many years, bringing some of the country’s best-loved brands to customers,” said Kari Daniels, CEO, SSP UK & Ireland. “We’re delighted to have opened our first bespoke airside bar in this terminal, which will bring a premium dining experience to those wanting a final taste of Manchester before departure. Offering bespoke outlets is an important part of our strategy, ensuring we surprise and delight our customers while also providing a new experience each time they travel.”
