Lithuanian Airports prepares for new terminal launch and redevelopment to enhance passenger experience

Lithuanian Airports is making plans for the catering areas in the new departures terminal at Vilnius Airport, which is scheduled to commence operations in February 2025, with over 1,000sqm of commercial space.

Lithuanian Airports has announced an international lease tender aimed at attracting a professional catering service operator of various formats to operate at Vilnius Airport. The future partner will operate both in the new departures terminal, scheduled to commence operations in February 2025, and in other terminal locations at the airport. The lease competition includes six locations for the operator, managing various concepts and brands.

The leased area in this competition covers over 1,000sqm of commercial space at Vilnius Airport. Based on the designated location in the airport terminal and analysis of passenger needs, the formats of catering services provided will vary, ranging from international fast food restaurants, coffee bars, or bakeries to healthy products.

“In early 2025, the new departures terminal will be launched,” said Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičienė, Head of the Commercial Department, Lithuanian Airports. “This is a highly anticipated symbolic and strategic change for the entire organisation, so we must prepare to ensure that our passengers can find suitable catering services, choosing from a wide range. An important emphasis is that we are putting a lot of effort into attracting the attention of international companies in this and future competitions.”

Meanwhile, the current spaces at Vilnius Airport will be reorganised after the launch of the new departure terminal, with significantly more places for various commercial services.
