[Video interview] Heathrow Airport Retail Director: “There is a real opportunity to collaborate now more than ever”

Last month, FTE’s Editor Marta Dimitrova caught up with Heathrow Airport’s Retail & Property Director Fraser Brown, following his participation at the FTE World Airport Retailing Summit in Dublin, which took place during FTE EMEA 2022. In this candid video interview, he discusses the airport’s evolving retail proposition, driven by digitalisation and exclusive partnerships with top brands from the likes of Chanel, Oliver Brown and JD Sports, to name a few. “Consumers are looking for experiences and I see airports as a fantastic canvas for brands to showcase their products. I can imagine a world where we will see pure play digital retailers that don’t have physical stores, starting to look at airports as a place to have a physical store so that they can showcase their brand.”

He also urges industry leaders to take risks, be more agile and come up with a different approach to rebuilding the industry post-COVID-19. “Summer demand is strong, but we need to deliver on that for the consumer and that needs all of us to collaborate. We have heard those conversations happening before, but I hope that the imperative of summer demand will turn those discussions into reality,” Brown shares. Watch the full video to find out more.
