Oakland International Airport selects Ariadne to deliver passenger flow analytics and enhance traveller experience

Ariadne, the global leader in people counting and passenger flow analytics, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the contract to implement its advanced passenger journey intelligence system at Oakland International Airport (OAK).

Through this collaboration, OAK will deploy Ariadne’s cutting-edge technology to capture and analyse passenger counts, movement, and dwell times across the entire airport journey from the curbside and ticket counters to security checkpoints, retail and dining areas, gate lounges, restrooms, and baggage claim. This initiative will provide real-time, privacy-compliant insights that enable OAK to optimise operations and deliver an improved passenger experience.

“We are honoured to partner with Oakland International Airport to support its mission of creating a seamless and stress-free travel experience,” said Georgios Pipelidis, CEO, Ariadne. “Our solution will provide OAK with real-time data and predictive analytics that empower stakeholders to make smarter, data-driven decisions while improving resource allocation, reducing wait times, and enhancing customer satisfaction.”

Transforming airport operations with real-time intelligence

By adopting Ariadne’s platform, OAK will benefit from:

  • Accurate real-time wait time tracking at security checkpoints.
  • Comprehensive monitoring of passenger flow across key airport areas, including concession spaces and boarding bridges.
  • Customisable reports and dashboards for historical trend analysis and operational planning.
  • Automated alerts and recommendations to proactively manage congestion and bottlenecks.
  • Forecasting capabilities to anticipate passenger demand and optimize staffing.

Elevating the passenger journey

With no existing system to monitor passenger flow, OAK is making a transformative step by adopting Ariadne’s technology. Airport management will now be equipped with actionable intelligence to improve terminal efficiency, maximise concession opportunities, and deliver a smoother experience for travellers.

Kyle Mobley, Director of Information Technology, Port of Oakland, commented: “Partnering with Ariadne allows us to better understand and manage how passengers move through our airport. This initiative reflects our commitment to innovation and to continuously improving the journey for every traveller who passes through OAK.”
