FTE Asia Awards 2018 shortlists announced – 25 airlines and airports shortlisted


The shortlists for the Future Travel Experience Asia Awards 2018 have been revealed and feature a total of 25 airlines and airports from across Asia and Oceania. The awards recognise the most customer-centric initiatives from the last 12 months and the winners will be revealed during an awards ceremony on Tuesday 13 November at the free-to-attend FTE Asia EXPO 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. 

‘On the Ground’ categories:

(Airline or airport initiatives that have had the most positive impact on the passenger experience on the ground)

West Asia:

  • Dubai International – Arrivals Smart Gates, Terminal 1
  • Emirates – Virtual Reality Seat Selection Tool
  • Hamad International Airport – Airport Football Fan Zone

Southeast Asia:

  • AirAsia – Fast Airport Clearance Experience System (FACES)
  • Changi Airport Group – Fast and Seamless Travel, Terminal 4
  • Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd. – Airports 4.0 Initiative

North & East Asia:

  • Airport Authority Hong Kong – Smart Airport Initiative
  • Incheon Airport – Terminal 2
  • Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. – Haneda Robotics Lab

Central & South Asia:

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai – Fully Automated Check-In and Bag Drop, Terminal 1
  • Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi – Security Experience Enhancements
  • Vistara – Innovation Initiative (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics and Big Data)

Oceania:

  • Auckland Airport – International Terminal Pier B Extension and Upgrade
  • Virgin Australia – Self-Service Passenger and Baggage Processing Initiatives (On-Airport and Off-Airport)
  • Sydney Airport & Qantas – ‘Couch-to-Gate’ Biometrics Technology Trial
