Summary:

  • Delta Air Lines has unveiled a reimagined Delta One premium cabin experience, with a major investment in dining, hospitality and rest, launching first on transoceanic routes from Los Angeles this autumn before expanding globally in early 2027.
  • The enhanced offering includes a refined culinary and beverage programme developed with leading chefs and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, alongside more than 60 new pieces of tableware designed to elevate onboard dining and service.
  • Delta One customers will benefit from greater control over their journey through expanded meal pre-selection, more flexible dining and rest options, and the ability to choose their entrée up to 18 hours before departure.

Delta Air Lines has unveiled the next era of Delta One – an investment that elevates dining, hospitality and rest. Informed by two decades of customer insights and backed by the airline’s largest investment to-date, building on more than $1 billion invested in the fleet, the refined Delta One has been meticulously designed, spanning thousands of touchpoints and aiming to deliver an unmatched journey.

The overhaul is available first on transoceanic Delta One routes departing Los Angeles International Airport this fall and will expand across the full global network in early 2027.

“Delta’s fully reimagined experience is rooted in solving real customer needs and desires, with intentionality behind every detail,” said Ranjan Goswami, Chief Marketing and Product Officer, Delta Air Lines. “Every investment we make is deliberate and designed to deliver the industry’s most premium end-to-end travel experience. This elevated dining and hospitality experience reflects our relentless focus on raising the bar while giving customers greater control throughout their journey.”

Delta’s in-house culinary team has partnered with Chef Simon Hulstone and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson to shape a culinary and beverage programme rooted in craftsmanship, quality and consistency. Drawing on his experience leading a restaurant with a 20-year Michelin star legacy, Hulstone helped refine every ingredient, preparation method and service touchpoint to deliver elevated versions of familiar and memorable meals customers consistently identify as their favourites. To ensure regional meals bring local credibility and authentic inspiration, Delta also partnered with renowned Chefs Norio Ueno and Jereme Leung. Each chef will continue to consult with the programme to ensure Delta delivers consistent and recognisable meals customers from every region will enjoy.

A new collection of Delta One tableware, featuring the iconic Delta widget, balances elegance with operational precision. Developed through extensive research, prototyping and onboard testing, every piece has been designed to elevate hospitality, enable personalised tableside service and create a refined backdrop for the culinary experience.

The refreshed Delta One experience gives customers greater control over how they dine and rest while travelling. Expanded pre-select options include lighter selections, such as protein-added salads, while customers on long-haul flights who prefer to maximise sleep can opt to skip the morning meal service and instead enjoy a coffee and croissant before landing. Delta also gives customers more flexibility to plan, extending pre-select entrée ordering to 18 hours before departure – six hours closer to departure than before. “Luxury is about having the experience designed around you – today’s premium traveller values choice as much as quality,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, SVP – Brand Experience, Delta Air Lines. “These enhancements offer greater flexibility, ensuring every Delta One customer can enjoy the journey in the way that suits them best.”

While the menus, ingredients, partnerships and tableware are new, the experience is still grounded in Delta’s people. “Hospitality has always been Delta’s greatest differentiator, and it starts with our people,” said Manion Taylor. “From the earliest concepts and through testing and implementation, our flight attendants and teams helped shape this experience with their expertise and insights, ensuring every detail works for our customers while reflecting the hospitality that sets Delta apart.”

More than 200 Delta flight attendants and team members helped shape the experience over 14+ months, contributing 200+ unique submissions of feedback across four phases of testing and 36 dedicated trial flights. Their insights influenced everything from redesigned service elements, including tea service and sauce presentation, to the development of more than 60 new pieces of tableware. The result is a Delta One experience thoughtfully crafted for customers, by the people who bring it to life every day.
