Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines reveal new, unified cabin experience as booking integration progresses

As Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines continue their path toward a unified operation, the two carriers have announced a streamlined and aligned onboard experience set to take effect for travel from April 2026. This development comes as part of a broader integration effort to combine the airlines’ booking systems, offering travellers greater consistency and flexibility across the combined network.

The changes will be reflected in booking systems from 14 October 2025, covering travel from 22 April 2026 onwards. This milestone marks a step forward in the airlines’ commitment to providing a more cohesive passenger experience while maintaining the unique identities of both brands.

As part of the cabin alignment, travellers can now expect a standardised offering across both fleets. This includes the introduction of lie-flat seating options on widebody aircraft such as Hawaiian’s Airbus A330 and Alaska’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners. These premium cabins feature enclosed suites, direct aisle access, 18-inch HD screens, and wireless charging, along with access to lounges including Alaska Lounges, The Plumeria Lounge in Honolulu, and select partner lounges through oneworld and other global partners.

On narrowbody aircraft – including Alaska’s 737s and E175s and Hawaiian’s A321s and 717s – the First Class experience will continue to deliver spacious seating, dedicated flight attendants, complimentary meals, and lounge access on longer routes.

One notable update is the rebranding of Hawaiian Airlines’ ‘Extra Comfort’ seats to ‘Premium Class’. While the legroom and seat specifications remain the same, passengers will now benefit from additional perks, including complimentary alcoholic beverages and expanded consistency across both brands.

The airlines are also aligning their basic economy offerings under the ‘Saver Fare’ name, replacing Hawaiian’s ‘Main Cabin Basic’. Saver Fare includes seat assignments 24 hours before departure, no charge for carry-on luggage, and more flexible change and cancellation policies – including 50% credit for cancellations made 14 days in advance.

To further personalise the booking process, travellers will soon be able to view seat-specific pricing when booking online – a feature familiar to many Hawaiian Airlines passengers. This will allow passengers to select window, aisle, or middle seats based on price and preference.

These updates reflect the airlines’ continued investment in passenger experience, digital innovation, and operational consistency as they move toward full integration in 2026.
