  • Expanded boarding lounge and new food court elevate dwell time experience and passenger comfort.

Kansai Airports – part of the network of VINCI Airports (a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub) – has opened a new domestic area in Terminal 2 at Kansai International Airport (KIX) as part of a major renovation project.

The ongoing renovation project aims to accommodate increasing air traffic. Under a phased approach, areas are opened upon the completion of each phase. The renovated domestic area of Terminal 2 is now equipped with self-bag drop machines and smart security check lanes to streamline the flow from check-in to security screening and alleviate congestion, in anticipation of future increases in air traffic.

Furthermore, the boarding lounge, where passengers wait for their flights after security screening, is now approximately 20% larger, with more charging facilities and a newly introduced food court featuring four restaurants, allowing passengers to spend their time before departure more effectively.

Kansai Airports Group continues to work with stakeholders to create a new travel experience as a gateway to the Kansai region.
