Japan Airlines has announced that it will introduce a new JAL Sky Suite configuration on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The new ‘JAL Sky Suite 787-9’ will debut on the Tokyo Narita-Kuala Lumpur route, starting at the end of July 2017, and will progressively be introduced on other international routes.

Business Class will be retrofitted with the new JAL Sky Suite Ⅲ, which was installed on the carrier’s Boeing 777-200ER last June. In addition, the number of JAL Sky Suites on the 787-9 will be increased from 44 to 52.

Premium Economy will be equipped with the JAL Sky Premium seat, while Economy Class will be fitted with the JAL Sky Wider seat. The eight-abreast configuration in economy allows for a 5cm increase in seat width compared to the nine-abreast alternative.
In fact, Japan Airlines will be the only airline in the world to feature eight-abreast seating in economy class on this aircraft type.
