Exhibiting with FTE helped Flexiroam secure Emirates partnership for its borderless mobile connectivity solutions

Flexiroam is exhibiting at the co-located FTE EMEA and FTE Ancillary & Retailing events, taking place in Dublin on 23-25 May 2023. Ahead of the event, Joost Cordes, Chief Revenue Officer, shared details of Flexiroam’s borderless mobile connectivity solutions and how exhibiting at previous Future Travel Experience events helped secure an important agreement with Emirates.

In October 2022, Flexiroam signed an important agreement with Emirates to offer SIM cards and associated data bundles for on the ground use. “Our recent partnership with Emirates originated from the FTE EMEA event in 2022, an agreement that was secured because of our attendance at the FTE event,” explains Joost Cordes, Chief Revenue Officer, Flexiroam.

Flexiroam started with a mission to push the boundaries of communications. What began as a solution for travellers, has evolved into a fully managed solution that can be tailored to any use case. “Flexiroam is now one of the global leaders in mobile travel solutions and our technology has enabled travellers, enterprises, and resellers globally with borderless mobile connectivity solutions,” says Joost Cordes, Chief Revenue Officer, Flexiroam.

With service in over 200 countries and territories, Flexiroam has become a preferred service for consumers and businesses worldwide.

In October 2022, Flexiroam signed an important agreement with Emirates to offer SIM cards and associated data bundles for on the ground use. “Our recent partnership with Emirates originated from the FTE EMEA event in 2022, an agreement that was secured because of our attendance at the FTE event,” Cordes explains. “Attending events like FTE EMEA is crucial for Flexiroam’s growth as it provides a platform to connect with airlines, specifically those responsible for ancillary services. The event provides the opportunity to meet with numerous ancillary experts over the course of a few days and showcase our solution.”

Initially, the service – reselling the SIM cards for on the ground use – was offered on approximately 100 Emirates aircraft, and made available for pre-order on the airline’s website. The service is currently being rolled out across the remainder of the aircraft in the Emirates fleet. “We are currently live with one data package and discussing the possibility of adding additional packages to the offering as alternative price-point solutions,” says Cordes. “To date, we are very happy with the progress”

As a global leader in data roaming, the partnership with a leading brand like Emirates exemplifies the progress Flexiroam has made in the eSIM space. Indeed, Emirates’ wide network of customers provides an excellent opportunity for Flexiroam to expand its market share and increase brand exposure worldwide. “It is a fantastic opportunity for Flexiroam to showcase its products and services to a wider audience of qualified travellers and build its reputation as a trusted and reliable provider of mobile travel data solutions worldwide,” Cordes notes.

Building on the success with Emirates, Flexiroam is currently working through some proof of concept testing with other airlines.

The company is now looking ahead to its participation at the co-located FTE EMEA and FTE Ancillary & Retailing events, taking place in Dublin on 23-25 May 2023. With eSIM becoming more mainstream, combined with continuous product development in this area, Cordes adds that Flexiroam has multiple options for airlines to onboard its service and start offering data roaming to customers. “We will showcase these options during the event and provide insights around what is needed for airlines to start offering this must-have digital travel product.”
