A compelling session on ‘Driving ancillary revenue success’ included three pioneering case studies. First, Stephan Heinz, Director, Partnerships & Monetisation, shared how LATAM Airlines is embracing product partnership innovation and monetisation to drive value across the customer journey. He explained that airlines offer the ideal marketing platform, with the onboard passenger a captive audience and their journey a platform for sampling products and experiences. Airlines capture a wealth of data on passenger demographics, and product segmentation means that target audiences are already segmented. Global footprint drives awareness in multiple markets. The ideal partnerships, Heinz said, deliver equal value to the airline and the partner. He also emphasised that effective partnership building requires a holistic approach that integrates the monetisation of physical assets alongside product partnerships.
A fascinating Fireside Chat with Tanya McCaffrey, Head of Ancillary Products, Virgin Australia, and Ella Alkalay Schreiber, SVP & GM of Fintech, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), explored how travel fintech can deliver flexibility to customers and generate new revenue opportunities.
