JetBlue Airways has announced that it will introduce its premium onboard product, Mint, on services from New York JFK to Barbados and Aruba.

Key features of the 16-seat Mint cabin include four private suites with closing doors, 80-inch-long lie-flat seats with a built-in massage function, 15-inch in-flight entertainment (IFE) monitors with more than 200 live television channels and radio stations, complimentary in-flight broadband, power outlets and USB ports, customised amenity kits and a more comprehensive food and beverage offer, the latter of which will have a Caribbean twist on the Barbados and Aruba routes.

The so-called “Mint Experience” also includes a number of benefits on the ground, including faster check-in, fast track security and boarding, and priority baggage collection upon arrival. Since its launch in June 2014, Mint has been available on services from New York JFK to Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Marty St George, JetBlue’s Executive Vice President Commercial and Planning, said: “Ever since we launched Mint, customers have been asking us where we will take it next. We re-invented transcontinental flying with Mint, and we anticipate demand for an enhanced product will be equally strong for these Caribbean destinations.”

Mint will be introduced on the two Caribbean services in November 2015, making it the first US carrier to offer lie-flat seats on scheduled services to the Caribbean.
