SEA Milan Airports has implemented FaceBoarding at Linate, allowing travellers to check-in and board using biometric facial recognition. ITA Airways and SAS are the first airlines to join the project.
Sacramento International Airport has implemented biometric boarding for international flights at select gates, using Amadeus facial recognition technology for “a secure, touchless departure process”.
Air Canada is piloting digital identification on select flights departing from Vancouver Airport to Winnipeg, and at the Air Canada Café at Toronto Pearson Airport, offering passengers paperless, seamless boarding.
Philadelphia International Airport is installing facial biometric technology at 25 boarding gates to help U.S. CBP process departing passengers on international flights safely and efficiently.
iGA Istanbul Airport has started testing the Star Alliance Biometrics access system in collaboration with Turkish Airlines as part of efforts to deliver a contactless travel experience.
British Airways has launched a new six-month smart technology trial, utilising biometrics, for international flights at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5.
