easyJet has partnered with tier one aerospace supplier GKN Aerospace to accelerate hydrogen combustion and hydrogen fuel-cell technology.
The two-year study will examine the infrastructure requirements and supply solutions to support hydrogen-powered aircraft and airport operations at Changi Airport.
The partnership will initially deploy ZeroAvia’s hydrogen-electric propulsion technology into a full-size De Havilland Q400 aircraft, capable of transporting 76 passengers.
The three partners have selected Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport as the pilot airport for the deployment of hydrogen gas distribution.
