Up to 12 Economy Sleeper Class seats will be offered on services from Astana to London, Frankfurt and Paris.

Air Astana has introduced an Economy Sleeper Class on its Boeing 757 services from Astana to London and Frankfurt. Each seat in the new class, which is separate to the Business and Economy cabins, combines three standard economy seats to provide a space for passengers to lie flat during the flight.

Passengers in the Economy Sleeper Class are provided with a mattress, pillow and duvet, and the benefits also include priority check-in, a 30kg baggage allowance, Business Class lounge access, priority boarding and a Business Class amenity kit. Up to 12 Economy Sleeper seats will be offered on each flight, and the option will also be added to flights between Astana and Paris in late-March

“As part of the constant process of product and service innovation, Air Astana is delighted to introduce the new Economy Class Sleeper product, which provides many of the comforts and amenities of Business Class, but is attractively priced at the equivalent full economy class fare,” said Richard Ledger, VP Worldwide Sales at Air Astana.

“I’m confident that discerning passengers flying from Astana to European destinations will enjoy this class of travel, whilst experiencing Skytrax 4 Star award-winning levels of service.”

The launch of Air Astana’s Economy Sleeper Class comes just weeks after then-CEO of AirAsia X, Azran Osman Rani, discussed with FTE the carrier’s intention to develop a “bed-like” economy product.
