How SES delivers multi-orbit connectivity that gives airlines complete choice and flexibility

SES – a Platinum Sponsor of APEX FTE Asia Expo (Singapore, 11-12 November 2025) – is the only multi-orbit connectivity provider that gives airlines complete choice and flexibility. It operates one of the world’s largest satellite networks, serving 3,000 aircraft and 30 airlines. In this interview, Enrique Villasenor, Vice President, Direct Aero Sales, Rest of World, shares how SES offers both Ku and Ka band options across multiple orbits, letting airlines choose what works best for their routes and passengers.

Enrique Villasenor, Vice President, Direct Aero Sales, Rest of World, SES: “SES prides itself in the partnerships we establish with our customers. Each airline has unique objectives, and we work closely with them to tailor a solution that meets their goals. Whether the airline wants to offer a free service to all their customers, offset IFC costs through advertising and sponsorships or enhance operational efficiency through access to real-time data, SES has the tools to bring each airline’s vision to life.”

“SES prides itself in the partnerships we establish with our customers,” says Villasenor. “Each airline has unique objectives, and we work closely with them to tailor a solution that meets their goals. Whether the airline wants to offer a free service to all their customers, offset IFC costs through advertising and sponsorships or enhance operational efficiency through access to real-time data, SES has the tools to bring each airline’s vision to life.”

Satellite connectivity will play a crucial role in the evolution of the passenger journey and airline operations in the coming years. Indeed, it’s no surprise that people expect to be connected no matter where they are, including when they’re on a flight. “As demand continues to increase, low and medium earth orbit satellite networks pave the way for high throughput, low latency connectivity that can power the most demanding applications,” Villasenor explains.

Looking ahead, Villasenor is eager to participate at the 15th anniversary edition of APEX FTE Asia Expo, taking place in Singapore on 11-12 November 2025. “APEX FTE Asia Expo offers a great opportunity to network with current and future customers and to share our vision for delivering an exceptional passenger experience. It’s always good to hear from the industry about new developments that are improving the passenger experience. SES appreciates that every airline is different, and we treat them that way. Some airlines want turnkey solutions, others want to co-create unique offerings. SES works as a partner to shape their particular vision into reality, providing personalised connectivity that helps the carrier stand out from competitors.”
