Brussels Airlines invests in improved onboard product for passengers in all booking classes

Brussels Airlines is upgrading its inflight passenger experience across cabins, with major enhancements to Premium Economy on long-haul flights and new culinary concepts designed to deliver a boutique-hotel-style journey.

Summary:

  • Brussels Airlines is enhancing its onboard passenger experience across all cabins, with the largest investment focused on Premium Economy on long-haul flights.
  • Upgrades include premium tableware, expanded meal choices, improved inflight entertainment accessories and refined service flow, alongside new culinary concepts led by Michelin-starred chef Glen Verhasselt.
  • Additional improvements across Economy and Business Class – from enhanced meal trays to reusable cups and refreshed service elements – will roll out progressively throughout 2026.

Brussels Airlines is enhancing the passenger experience in its different booking classes, both on short-haul and long-haul flights. The biggest investment goes to Premium Economy on long-haul flights, with improved tableware and more meal options and an improved service flow, but other booking classes will see improvements too.

Brussels Airlines is on a journey to improve its passenger experience. The airline has already announced a full renovation of THE LOFT – its lounge in Brussels – as well as free WiFi for all passengers and brand-new cabins on its long-haul fleet.

In parallel, Brussels Airlines is enhancing its soft product: Business Class flights departing from Brussels now offer a unique culinary experience crafted by double Michelin-starred chef Glen Verhasselt, showcasing the best of Belgian cuisine. Since this year, flights departing from African destinations feature African-inspired dishes, all served on redesigned, modern, and premium tableware.

The next round of improvements will elevate Premium Economy. Enhancements for this long-haul product include:

  • New tableware, with premium chinaware, steel cutlery and a premium napkin.
  • Three choices of hot meals during the main meal service.
  • Improved pre-landing meals on longer flights.
  • An enhanced starter.
  • Paper menu cards.
  • Improved headphones for the inflight entertainment.

All these improvements will be rolled out throughout 2026, with the new tableware debuting as of mid-March. All passengers travelling with Brussels Airlines will notice product improvements in the coming months, including:

  • An extra food component on the main meal tray in Economy Class on long-haul flights.
  • Reusable premium cups for alcoholic beverages in Economy Class both on short-haul and long-haul flights.
  • Fresh towels and a bottle of water before take-off on short-haul Business Class.
  • A curtain divider on short-haul flights between Business Class and Economy Class.

“Brussels Airlines is on a journey to overhaul the entire passenger experience,” said Brussels Airlines Head of Inflight Product Thibaut Dewilde. “From big and bold investments, like WiFi, new cabins and a renovated lounge, to smaller enhancements like improved menus and tableware: passengers will feel our dedication to their travel experience across all touchpoints. Our aim is to create a boutique hotel in the air and on the ground, and these investments reflect exactly that.”
