As American Airlines marks its 100th anniversary, the airline is introducing a collection of limited-edition onboard products designed to honuor a century of innovation while elevating the travel experience for today’s customers. The new centennial amenity kits, premium pyjamas and refreshed closed‑toe slippers debut across premium cabins at the beginning of April.

The centennial amenity kits are a centrepiece of American’s 100-year celebration and a tangible expression of how the airline is elevating the onboard experience from every angle. Alongside limited-edition pyjamas and curated inflight dining offerings, the kits bring American’s history – and its future vision – right to customers’ seats.

Each of the three kits – Astrojet, Silverbird and Forward – connects to a distinct chapter of American’s story while delivering a premium, fresh and relevant experience for today’s traveller. Inside, centennial‑branded products are designed to reinforce the milestone and make the experience feel truly commemorative:

  • Astrojet era: A vibrant orange lightning bolt recalls the bold optimism of the early jet age.
  • Silverbird era: An iconic silver finish and tribar stripe channel the refined glamour that shaped a golden era of air travel.
  • Forward era: Angled stitching inspired by American’s flight symbol and newest seat designs embodies the airline’s momentum and future focus.

These design cues align with centennial visuals across airport lounges and in onboard and digital content, creating a unified narrative that celebrates American’s heritage while looking ahead to its next century.

The kits are designed as physical storytellers, engaging multiple senses through colour, pattern and premium finishes. Inside, customers will find a curated selection of comfort items chosen to help them relax, refresh and feel at home in the sky. For the centennial year, American has also added new premium items to its kit contents, further elevating the onboard experience and giving customers thoughtful touches they can use throughout their journey.

Today’s travellers expect more than basic comfort – they seek thoughtful design, quality materials and a sense of personalisation. The centennial kits aim to reflect those evolving expectations, with bags crafted to feel like lifestyle accessories customers will want to reuse long after their trip.

American is also introducing limited‑edition centennial pyjamas in April that extend the same three‑era storytelling. The pyjamas now feature a refreshed deep‑blue colour and subtle logos representing the Astrojet, Silverbird and Forward eras. As part of this broader refresh, American is updating its inflight slippers this spring to a closed‑toe design based on customer feedback, offering a more comfortable onboard experience that aligns with the elevated feel of the centennial collection. Customers flying in Flagship First and Flagship Suite Preferred seats will enjoy the pyjamas and refreshed slippers, which will also be provided in Flagship Business on ultra‑long‑haul flights to and from the Middle East, Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
