Riyadh Air has launched RX Pay, a branded payment card programme that rewards everyday spending with Sfeer Points, extending the airline’s digital travel experience beyond the journey through Mastercard and leading Saudi banks.

Summary:

  • Riyadh Air has launched RX Pay, a branded payment card programme developed with Mastercard and leading Saudi banks to reward customers for everyday spending and travel.
  • The airline-designed payment solution enables customers to earn Sfeer Points on purchases while extending Riyadh Air’s digital customer experience beyond the journey.
  • RX Pay will launch in phases, starting in Saudi Arabia, supporting Riyadh Air’s strategy to build an integrated digital travel ecosystem as its global network expands.

Riyadh Air has launched RX Pay, a suite of branded cards issued with leading Saudi Banks, giving customers a simpler, more rewarding way to pay. RX Pay is designed to carry Riyadh Air’s signature hospitality beyond the journey – rewarding travellers for the way they already live, shop, and travel.

RX Pay marks a new chapter for the airline. Rather than placing its name on a bank’s product, Riyadh Air has created a card in partnership with the leading Saudi Banks that is unmistakably its own – shaped end-to-end by the airline, so every reward and every detail is designed around the guest.

“Riyadh Air is the world’s first digitally native airline, and RX Pay is a key part of our vision to create a seamless, integrated the travel experience for our guests,” said Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer, Riyadh Air. “By working directly with Mastercard, and issued by leading Saudi banks, we can give our guests an experience no traditional airline card can match. We didn’t want to put our name on someone else’s card – we wanted to create something truly Riyadh Air, one that rewards our guests in their everyday lives, not just when they fly.”

Whether booking flights, shopping online or making everyday purchases, customers can earn Sfeer Points through RX Pay and enjoy benefits that travel with them. RX Pay will roll out in phases, beginning in Saudi Arabia – where Riyadh Air holds an exclusivity agreement with Mastercard – and is designed to grow across the airline’s expanding global network, welcoming trusted local bank partners in new markets along the way.

“Riyadh Air is redefining what a modern travel brand can offer its guests, and we are proud to bring the security, global acceptance, and everyday value of the Mastercard network to RX Pay,” said Adam Jones, Executive Vice President and Division President for West Arabia, Mastercard. “Together with leading Saudi banks, we are making it easier for travellers in Saudi Arabia and beyond to be rewarded for the way they already live and travel.”
