Qantas has opened its new Qantas First Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport, which includes various zones where travellers can relax, dine, work and socialise.

The luxury lounge features a 74-seat restaurant and bar with an open-style kitchen, while Qantas has partnered with Sofitel to offer a service experience consistent with the standards across its First Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne. Lounge guests can also make use of faster Wi-Fi, wireless printing, cable television, private work suites and seven shower suites.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said: “The new lounge is more than triple the size of the previous space, and the design and service is equal to the world’s best five star hotels and restaurants. Lounges are important to our international customers’ journey, which is why we have drawn on the knowledge of world leading experts like Marc Newson and Qantas Chef Neil Perry to deliver the most luxurious experience before people even step onboard.

According to Marc Newson, the renowned Australian industrial designer responsible for designing the new lounge, his aim was create a “calm oasis” for travellers to enjoy before boarding their flight.
