JFK’s new Terminal 6 selects Sittig Technologies’ PAXGuide to automate passenger announcements

JFK Terminal 6 is deploying Sittig Technologies’ PAXGuide platform to automate passenger announcements across every gate, combining AI-powered text-to-speech and multilingual communication to enhance the digital passenger experience.

Summary:

  • JFK Terminal 6 has selected Sittig Technologies’ PAXGuide platform to provide automated, centralised passenger announcements across the new terminal.
  • PAXGuide will combine AI-powered text-to-speech, data-driven automation and touch mic stations to deliver consistent announcements at every gate.
  • The system will support announcements in 12 languages, helping JFK T6 improve passenger communication while reducing manual interventions and errors.

JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), the company selected by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to build and operate JFK Airport’s new Terminal 6, has announced that Sittig Technologies’ PAXGuide platform has been selected to provide automated, centralised passenger announcements in the new terminal, setting the standard for how airports communicate with their passengers. Sittig Technologies is an exhibitor at the 20th anniversary edition of FTE Global, taking place in Dallas, Texas, on 8 to 10 September 2026.

The implementation establishes a consistent and scalable communication framework throughout Terminal 6. The platform’s ‘PAXcallpoint’ technology will serve as the central announcement management solution, while ‘PAXgate’ will enable fully automated boarding announcements at all gates within the terminal.

“Sittig’s PAXGuide platform coupled with touch mic stations at every gate will help us deliver a state-of-the-art, digital-first T6 guest experience,” said Edward D’Angelo, Vice President, Technology, JFK Millennium Partners. “This means clear and standardised communication for our diverse international passenger base while reducing the need for manual interventions.”

JFK T6 will also be the first airport in the world to make use of a new integration between PAXgate and AtlasIED touch mic stations. The integration brings PAXgate’s full data-driven background processes and AI-powered text-to-speech capabilities directly to the mic station, a device gate agents have relied on for decades. For situations requiring more control and flexibility, agents can additionally access the PAXgate web application directly from the gate workstation. Both options are always available at the gate, side by side. The result is fewer errors, faster workflows, and a consistent passenger experience across every gate.

A key element of the solution is the use of advanced text-to-speech technology, allowing announcements to be delivered in 12 languages. With PAXGuide, JFK T6 will open with a future-ready foundation for automated, data-driven passenger communication in one of the world’s most prominent aviation hubs.

“JFK Terminal 6 sets a new benchmark for the airport experience in North America, and we are proud that PAXGuide will be part of that from day one,” said Johannes Sittig, CEO, U.S. Sittig Technologies. “Passengers will benefit from clear, consistent announcements in multiple languages across every touchpoint in the terminal, delivered automatically, in real time, and without compromise. That is the standard we build for.”
