REDEFINING THE END-TO-END PASSENGER EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
The Lufthansa Group is introducing ‘The Green Fares’ in response to passenger demand for sustainable travel. This makes it possible to fly more sustainably with just one click, as the new fares include offsetting of flight-related CO₂ emissions.
Air New Zealand has announced Heart Aerospace, Universal Hydrogen and Embraer as long-term partners on its mission to replace its Q300 domestic fleet with zero emissions aircraft technology from 2030.

A new Hydrogen Aviation Center is to be built at Stuttgart Airport in a joint project with H2FLY. The purpose-built facility will develop and test hydrogen-electric propulsion systems for passenger aviation.
Emirates has operated its first demonstration flight on a Boeing 777-300ER, powering one of its engines with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

FTE caught up with Connect Airlines’ CEO John Thomas to discuss the carrier’s ambition to be the first zero emission airline in the US by 2025.
The partnership explores the supply and purchase of SAF from Shell at major airports in Asia Pacific and the Middle East from 2026 for five years.
The plan will see the airline reach net-zero through a series of initiatives, with the ultimate ambition to be flying on zero carbon emission hydrogen-powered aircraft.
Torino Airport has deployed an electrically powered fleet to carry out aircraft handling operations with reduced environmental impact.
FTE speaks to Dar Group’s Head of Digital Advisory Chris Runde; Thomas Kearns, Digital Innovation Strategist at Perkins and Will; and Richard Palmer, Dar Group’s Sustainability specialist, all of whom are playing a role in shaping the future of the industry.
The multi-year partnership with parent company IAG will see 78,400 tonnes of SAF delivered to British Airways and Aer Lingus from 2025.
