American Airlines is extending its relationship with Intelsat, with the plan to install new high-speed WiFi capability on nearly 500 regional aircraft beginning next year.

Aerolíneas Argentinas has selected Intelsat to provide inflight connectivity service on 18 Airbus A330 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. It is the first in Latin America to use Intelsat’s new ESA antenna.

Air Canada is continuing to invest in comfort across its fleet of A321s and A320s, featuring a new cabin interior, new technologies and services such as Bluetooth audio and free high-speed connectivity.

Porter Airlines has announced that inflight connectivity and wireless IFE from Viasat (a Gold Sponsor of FTE APEX Asia Expo, 8-9 November 2023, Singapore) will be installed on an additional 20 new E195-E2s.

SWISS has introduced free use of the internet for chat services such as WhatsApp on all long-haul flights. The new facility is available in all classes of travel, throughout the flight and with no data limit.

Singapore Airlines has extended free unlimited Wi-Fi access to all travellers in all cabin classes, including Premium Economy and Economy, empowering customers “to stay connected, entertained and productive”.

Ethiopian Airlines is to offer high-speed inflight broadband onboard its upcoming A350-1000 aircraft, with GX Aviation provided by Inmarsat and selected through the Airbus Airspace Link HBCplus programme.

American Airlines is elevating its onboard CX with offerings designed to deliver “a consistent and connected inflight experience”. This includes new inflight meals, updated connectivity, and new entertainment options.

Japan Airlines has reached an agreement with Intelsat to upgrade about 50 Boeing 737s and 767s to the company’s 2Ku inflight connectivity solution “to offer more robust inflight connectivity for passengers”.

Following the successful roll-out to easyJet’s EU and Swiss fleets, inflight technology provider AirFi has further deployed its portable streaming solution across the remainder of the airline’s fleet.

Emirates has enhanced inflight connectivity, so all passengers can enjoy some form of free connectivity once they sign up to Emirates Skywards. The airline will also offer high-speed broadband onboard 50 new Airbus A350s.

Delta has launched ‘Delta Sync Exclusives’ – a first-of-its-kind platform to curate the onboard experience for passengers. The new digital experience for mobile devices brings together exclusive content, access and offers to customers.

Norwegian is to launch Anuvu’s cutting-edge high-speed WiFi technology as it works on “developing and improving our services onboard and having a seamless, stable WiFi experience in the air”.

Etihad will take delivery of three new Boeing 787s in Q3 2023, with new interiors featuring Business suites with privacy doors. Upgraded experiences include enhanced Wi-Fly packages and an environmentally-conscious dining experience.

Etihad has launched new Wi-Fly ‘Chat’ and ‘Surf’ packages to ensure travellers have “an enjoyable connected experience” on its wide-body fleet, meaning they can catch up on social media, work or browse as they wish.
