Qantas’ Next Generation Check-In Program will be extended to New Zealand, so more passengers will be able to make use of the Q Card and permanent Q Bag Tag.

In its International Strategy announced earlier this week, Qantas confirmed that the Next Generation Check-In Program will be introduced to airports in New Zealand.

In a recent interview with Future Travel Experience, Gabriella D’Alessandro, Head of Next Generation Check-In Program, revealed that the Australian airline was “currently looking for opportunities to roll out Next Generation Check-In across the Tasman by installing Q Card reader technology”.

The expansion of the programme into New Zealand has now been confirmed, although an implementation date is yet to be announced.

Next Generation Check-In makes use of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to allow passengers to check-in within five-seconds, while a permanent bag tag is also offered.
