Taiwan Taoyuan explores self-service expansion

Just four months on from the introduction of common use self-service kiosks at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, more than 335,000 boarding passes have already been issued.

The 52 kiosks – provided by SITA – are located in Terminals 1 and 2, and allow passengers to check-in for flights on ANA, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Delta, EVA Airways, Dragonair, KLM and TransAsia Airways from any kiosk.

The airport is now discussing possible future enhancements with SITA, including self-service bag drop and self-boarding.

Paul Dalton, SITA Regional Vice President, North Asia and Pacific, said: “Taoyuan International Airport is responding to passenger needs as more and more are demanding self-service. In fact, the latest SITA Passenger Self-Service Survey shows that 70% want self-service for more steps of the journey.”
