A new offsite city check-in service is now available for Etihad Airways, Wizz Air and EGYPTAIR passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi International Airport. The joint initiative, known as MORAFIQ, is powered by Abu Dhabi Airports, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Capital Travel, Etihad
Airport Services, OACIS Middle East and Tourism 365.

The city check-in facility is located at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Mina Zayed, where an announcement was made at an event attended by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

“We are committed to providing a seamless journey for passengers at our airports and this service will provide the location flexibility for check-in, allowing travellers to enjoy more of Abu Dhabi,” said H.E Eng Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Abu Dhabi Airports. “The idea is to have multiple check-in points all over the city, allowing for hassle-free travel services to passengers and more options for check-in touch points when departing from Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

The facility is open from 09:00 to 21:00, with passengers able to check-in and drop their baggage 24 hours in advance and up to four hours before their flight departure time. Travellers can also purchase ancillary services, such as excess baggage, preferred seats and flight upgrades. Prices start from AED 45 for adults, AED 25 for children, AED 15 for infants, and AED 120 for a family of four.

“Etihad Airways continuously explores all options that allow guests to maximise their travel experiences and reduce waiting time,” said Shaeb Al Najjar, General Manager Hub Operations, Etihad Airways. “As a result, Etihad looks forward to offering its city check-in services with MORAFIQ. Together with its partners, Etihad Airways advances towards strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a world-class aviation hub.”

The service is designed to play a significant role in reducing the strain on airport resources and infrastructure, while providing a flexible
alternative for passengers.

“OACIS is immensely proud and delighted of our strategic partnership with ADAC, Etihad Airport Service – Ground, ADPG and Tourism 365 to collectively deploy off-airport check-in services in Abu Dhabi,” commented Titten Yohannan, OACIS Middle East Chairman & CEO. “The new City Check-In Service offered under MORAFIQ service banner shall significantly transform and enhance the guest experience by bringing freedom, flexibility, and convenience to air travellers.”
