easyJet partners with Starlink to enhance passenger experience with high-speed onboard connectivity

easyJet will introduce Starlink high-speed inflight WiFi across its fleet from 2027, enabling passengers to stream, browse and stay connected in the air, while paving the way for new digital services to enhance the onboard experience.

Summary:

  • easyJet will introduce Starlink high-speed inflight WiFi across its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo fleet from the first half of 2027, with installation expected to be completed by early 2028.
  • The new connectivity will enable passengers to stream, game, browse the internet and stay connected throughout their journey, while accessing flight updates and destination information.
  • The investment aims to enhance the passenger experience for business and leisure travellers, with the technology also creating opportunities for in-seat food and beverage ordering.

easyJet has announced it will offer WiFi onboard for the first time, bringing Starlink’s high-speed inflight connectivity to customers across its fleet. Starlink will be deployed from the first half of 2027 across the airline’s A320, A320neo and A321neo fleet, with the roll-out expected to be completed by early 2028.

The deployment will transform the onboard experience for customers, allowing them to stream, game and browse on their own devices, just as they would on the ground, with access to the fast, reliable connectivity managed by Starlink.

easyJet’s investment in onboard connectivity is a key step in further enhancing the passenger experience as part of its continued focus on making travel easy and affordable. The move also aims to attract even more business and leisure customers alike by offering more of the services they want when they fly.

Customers wanting to keep up-to-date with their journey will also be able to access useful information while in the air, from checking their flight status through the easyJet app and website to looking up information about their destination, such as local weather, transport or tourism information. The technology also unlocks the potential for customers to order from the inflight menu from the comfort of their seats.

“In an increasingly digital world, staying connected matters more than ever to many of our customers, whether that’s holidaymakers looking to unwind with inflight entertainment, or our business customers keeping up to speed with what’s happening on the ground,” said Kenton Jarvis, CEO, easyJet. “Innovation is in easyJet’s DNA and partnering with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s high-speed internet connectivity onboard for the first time will not only further enhance the experience we provide millions of customers, but means we are offering more of the options both business and leisure travellers want when they choose who they fly with. Giving customers the opportunity to get online in the air will mean even greater choice and convenience when you fly with easyJet. Ultimately, it’s yet another way we’re making travel easy.”

Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer, SpaceX, commented: “We’re proud to bring Starlink onboard easyJet and transform the way their customers stay connected throughout their travels. Fast, reliable connectivity from take-off to landing means people can work, stream, or stay in touch without interruption.”
