Vilnius Airport is strengthening its longstanding partnership with SSP, with the opening of eight new outlets as part of a wider terminal redevelopment programme. SSP has introduced a number of new brands that have already proven popular at other airports, specifically localised for travellers at Vilnius. The brand mix combines internationally familiar names, alongside bespoke concepts created by SSP either specifically for the airport, or as part of SSP’s international brand portfolio.
“As Vilnius Airport continues to grow, we are equally focused on developing the range and quality of services available to our passengers,” said Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, Interim CEO, Lithuanian Airports. “Food and beverage is an important part of the overall airport experience, and these new openings significantly broaden the choice available across the terminal. Our partnership with SSP allows us to bring proven international concepts to Vilnius Airport while ensuring the offer is adapted to the needs and expectations of our passengers. The expanded offer reflects our ambition to provide passengers with greater choice, convenience and quality throughout their journey.”
Sodai Le Grand Comptoir is a brasserie and bar concept offering a contemporary interpretation of authentic Lithuanian cuisine. With a menu featuring traditional local-style soups, comfort foods, local beverages and traditional breakfasts, Sodai Le Grand Comptoir will offer travellers a genuine taste of Lithuania.
Also bringing travellers the opportunity to sample the cuisine of Lithuania, Vilnius Bar & Bistro Le Grand Comptoir offers an all-day dining experience inspired by Lithuanian flavours and hospitality, with a menu designed around freshness, convenience and broad appeal. The concept showcases local ingredients, Lithuanian-inspired dishes and regional beverages alongside selected international favourites, creating an accessible introduction to Lithuania’s food culture.
Factory Bar & Kitchen is designed to appeal to passengers looking for a relaxed pre-flight experience. A dedicated sports bar and social dining destination, the concept has been developed around three key pillars; draft beer, great burgers and sports.
Burger King, one of the world’s most recognised quick service restaurant brands, has opened its newest restaurant at Vilnius Airport.
The new development also features a selection of SSP’s internationally recognised brands. Upper Crust caters for travellers seeking freshly made food that is easy to enjoy on the go. Camden Food Co. is the go-to destination for fresh smoothies, snacks and feel-good food on the move. Ritazza serves high-quality barista coffee alongside a convenient all-day food and beverage offer designed for travellers on the move.
The eighth outlet, a Bill Bentley beer bar, will open in the non-Schengen area later this year. Bill Bentley offers travellers a comfortable and inviting place to unwind before departure. The brand’s central focus is an extensive selection of beers, wines and spirits, complemented by a small food menu featuring easy-to-enjoy bar favourites and light bites.
Across the Vilnius Airport portfolio, the concepts have been developed based on passenger insights, travel patterns and dwell-time analysis, ensuring that each concept is tailored to the needs of specific traveller segments. Particular attention is given to offering menus that are easy for international passengers to understand, can be served efficiently in an airport environment, and provide the right balance between convenience, quality and local relevance. The food offer is designed to cater for all dayparts, with strong breakfast propositions for early-morning departures, lighter options for health-conscious travellers, and more indulgent food and beverage experiences for passengers with longer dwell times.
“This new venture, with its distinctly Baltic flair, adds much cachet to our business in the region,” Stian Lund, CEO, SSP Nordic & Baltics. “Our work with Vilnius Airport has developed steadily, and we have operated here very successfully. As the terminal continues to evolve, we’ve focused on ensuring the food and beverage offer is well aligned to the new environment and the needs of passengers using it. The new F&B mix reflects that approach, bringing together local influence with our experience of operating in international travel locations. Ultimately, our ambition is that dining at Vilnius Airport will become more than just a pre-flight necessity and instead a memorable part of the travel experience itself.”
