Changi Airport Group – a Headline Partner APEX FTE Asia Expo, taking place in Singapore on 11-12 November 2025 – has kicked-off its line-up of celebrations for Singapore’s 60th birthday with the SG60 Changi Airport Charity Walk and Airport Boulevard light-up. Held along the Changi Airport Connector, the event drew over 1,200 participants and was attended by Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Mr Jeffrey Siow, alongside representatives of the Changi Airport community and members of the public.

The Charity Walk garnered over $57,000 through registration fees and public donations. With dollar-for-dollar matching by both the Changi Foundation and SG Gives, a total of over $220,000 was raised. This fundraising initiative will support a range of causes, including Community Chest-funded programmes that empower youth-at-risk and children with special needs.

“The strong show of support from the public and members of the ONE Changi community in this SG60 Changi Airport Charity Walk has been truly inspiring,” said Mr Jayson Goh, Executive Vice President of Airport Management, Changi Airport Group. “Their generosity has made a meaningful difference to the causes supported by Community Chest. As Singapore prepares to mark its 60th birthday in just a few weeks, Changi Airport warmly welcomes all visitors to join in the rest of the festivities that we have lined up.”

Prior to the start of the Charity Walk, the Acting Minister for Transport launched the SG60 light-up at the Changi Airport Connector. Commemorating ‘60 Years of Homecoming’, the dazzling display features an array of Singapore icons lined up along a segment of Airport Boulevard, culminating in a majestic arch adorned in the red and white of the Singapore flag. Over 100-kilometres of LED lights were used to create the stunning display, which includes iconic sights like Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion, the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, and the Changi Control Tower.

The SG60 light-up will continue to illuminate Airport Boulevard until the end of the year, both welcoming and bidding farewell to travellers and Changi’s visitors as they continue their journeys.

Visitors looking to get in the celebratory mood can look forward to a host of exciting SG60-themed events and installations across Changi Airport and Jewel in the coming weeks. For nature lovers, beautiful horticultural displays can be found across the departure halls, including a stunning seven-metre-tall Vanda Miss Joaquim centrepiece at Terminal 3 and a six-metre floral Merlion at Terminal 2 that pay tribute to Singapore as a City in Nature.

On 1 August, Changi Airport will play host to a showcase of homegrown musical talents – including singers Kit Chan and Stefanie Sun – as part of the SG60 Homecoming Concert. Over 1,200 attendees are expected to take part in the National Day sing-along beneath the canopy of Jewel’s Forest Valley.

Meanwhile, on National Day (9 August), airport visitors can gather with fellow Singaporeans and local residents to catch the live screening of the National Day Parade at Terminal 3’s ST3PS, Basement 2. The celebration will include an array of fun-filled activities such as engaging games to test your knowledge on all things Singapore, captivating performances, and a mascot appearance by Mr Merlion.
