  • The new lounge will feature an outdoor terrace, distinct zones for dining, working, relaxing, and recharging, and locally inspired design elements.
  • The investment highlights American Airlines’ focus on premium customer experiences and enhanced amenities, including coffee and champagne offerings.

American Airlines is continuing its investment in premium customer experiences with plans to open a new, expanded Admirals Club lounge at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The new lounge will span more than 12,000 square feet on the west side of the terminal, doubling its current footprint at AUS, and introduce a first for American’s lounge network: an outdoor terrace space. Guests will enjoy expansive views of downtown Austin and the airfield, creating a uniquely local and elevated atmosphere for customers.

“As we elevate our presence in Austin, we’re excited to bring a new level of comfort and hospitality to our customers,” said American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden. “This new Admirals Club lounge will reflect the vibrant spirit of Austin while offering the thoughtful design and premium amenities our customers expect.”

Construction will begin this year, and the current lounge will remain open for customers during construction. The new lounge will feature distinct zones tailored to traveller needs, including areas to relax, dine, work and recharge – all designed to balance style, comfort and function.

The outdoor terrace will be a standout feature, marking the first time American has introduced open-air lounge space in its network. It’s part of a broader effort to reimagine the Admirals Club experience with locally inspired touches and enhanced service.

Customers travelling through AUS will also enjoy American’s recently announced partnerships: Lavazza coffee and Champagne Bollinger, the latter of which is available for purchase in Admirals Club lounges throughout the system.
