Summary:

  • PS has launched PS MIA, a private luxury terminal at Miami International Airport, offering a fully bespoke, end-to-end travel experience for premium passengers.
  • Located in the historic former Pan Am headquarters, the 34,000 sq ft facility combines heritage architecture with private suites, a social lounge and curated high-end services.
  • The opening marks PS’ first Florida location and fourth global outpost, reinforcing the growing trend toward ultra-premium, non-traditional airport experiences.

Miami International Airport (MIA) – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – and PS, a private luxury terminal company, have debuted the PS MIA location inside the former Pan American Airways headquarters. The new terminal, which enables travellers to bypass the traditional airport experience through dedicated private facilities, streamlined security, and highly personalised end-to-end travel services, marks PS’ first location in Florida and fourth outpost worldwide, following the recent Dallas-Fort Worth opening.

“Today’s opening of PS MIA marks a new chapter at MIA for residents and visitors seeking a concierge experience and more convenient way to fly,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “We are always looking for innovative partnerships that elevate the travelling experience for all MIA passengers, and the revitalisation of the Pan Am terminal is especially exciting. I’m proud to welcome PS to our community and applaud their dedication to preserving our aviation history while looking ahead to the future.”

Reimagining the landmark 1960s structure, the 34,000 square-foot space preserves elements of Pan Am’s original architecture and interiors while introducing a curated suite of elevated amenities that redefine the travel experience from arrival to departure. The terminal features five Private Suites, The Salon – an elevated social lounge designed for solo and business travellers – and a central open-air courtyard, complemented by spa treatments available upon request. These elements shape two distinct guest experiences: The Salon, an elevated social lounge suited to solo and business travellers, and The Private Suite, which offers fully private, residential-style accommodations designed for discretion and comfort.

“Creating a PS terminal within the Pan Am building, home to one of the most influential and iconic airlines in aviation history, is deeply symbolic of our mission to redefine the modern travel experience,” said Amina Belouizdad Porter, CEO of PS. “Miami was a natural next step for us as the nation’s second-busiest airport for international travellers and a key link to Latin America and the Caribbean, further strengthening our presence in globally connected gateway cities.”

Launching later this year, PS Direct will further extend this offering with integrated door-to-door transfers, transporting guests between aircraft and home or hotel. Across every touchpoint, the experience is defined by thoughtful precision, from private BMW chauffeur transfers and chef-prepared dining to discreet coordination led by PS’ Control Room across security, airlines, and agency partners, ensuring a smooth, secure, and highly controlled journey.

PS MIA brings together RJ Heisenbottle Architects and interior designer Cliff Fong to reimagine the iconic property. The design preserves its defining mid-century Brutalist character, recognised as a Miami-Dade County Historic Site, while layering in furnishings and details that subtly reference the Pan Am era. The result is a seamless blend of heritage and modern luxury, offering travellers a sophisticated retreat. The building’s iconic features, including original Pan Am airline insignias, gold panelling, and original reflecting pools, have been carefully restored. The design draws inspiration from Miami’s tropical glamour through terrazzo, marble, smoked glass, and bold patterns. Blending these elements with PS’ signature hospitality, the new terminal offers a refined yet vibrant environment for travellers.

For this project, PS worked with Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Art in Public Places, an award-winning public art commissioning programme, to commission Nina Surel – Miami-based Argentinian artist and founder of The Collective 62, Miami’s first all-female art collective – to create integrated, artist designed reflecting pools at PS MIA. The art unfolds throughout the terminal, from a stoneware bas-relief mural of interlocking ceramic tiles to a mosaicked pool, each reflecting the city’s natural landscape and layered cultural influences. With further art curation by Creative Art Partners, The PS Miami art collection is centred around light and a playful mix of materials with works that feel vibrant and expressive.
