SWISS introduces digital inflight menus to enhance passenger choice and transparency

SWISS is enhancing the passenger experience with digital inflight menus that allow travellers to view meal options before departure and, on eligible flights, pre-select or pre-order their preferred meal.

Summary:

  • SWISS has introduced digital inflight menus across all cabins and routes, enabling travellers to view meal options online before they fly.
  • The new functionality enhances transparency and personalisation by allowing eligible travellers to pre-select or pre-order meals ahead of departure.
  • Available via the SWISS app, website and dedicated ‘SWISS Culinary Journey’ platform, the service supports a more seamless and informed passenger experience.

Travellers on SWISS can now view in advance what culinary creations they’ll be offered in the air. Digital menus are now available on the SWISS app and website for all classes of travel on all flights. Depending on their flight and class of travel, travellers can also directly pre-select or pre-order their inflight meal in advance of their departure.

By introducing its new digital menus, SWISS is responding to a common request among customers to help them plan their journey well and also make more conscious decisions on their inflight meals.

“Many of our guests tell us that they’d like to know in advance what they can expect on their flight – just as they may check out a restaurant’s menu online before dining there,” said SWISS Chief Customer Officer Heike Birlenbach. “With our digital menus, we’re giving them greater transparency here, along with even more reason to look forward to their coming SWISS travel experience.”

SWISS’ digital menus are available online at least six weeks ahead of the flight concerned. They can also be viewed without entering a booking code. If they do enter their booking code, SWISS travellers will also have access – depending on their flight and class of travel – to a range of additional services, such as pre-select or pre order options enabling them to choose or order their inflight meal in advance of their departure.

Travellers in SWISS Premium Economy, SWISS Business and SWISS First are further offered an expanded or a guaranteed selection of inflight meals up to 24 hours before the departure of their flight. On most short-haul services, SWISS Economy travellers can also pre-order their meal up to 36 hours ahead of their flight’s departure.

Full details of the inflight meals available and of the associated service options have been bundled onto the ‘SWISS Culinary Journey’ platform, enabling travellers to both view their meal choices and make their meal selections in one single step. The platform can be accessed via the ‘Meal’ button in the SWISS app or at swiss.com/menu. The new digital menus supplement SWISS’ printed inflight menus, which continue to be offered onboard.
