Delta to expand free WiFi across trans-Pacific routes, completing global connectivity rollout

Delta Air Lines is preparing to extend fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi across its trans-Pacific network, marking the final step towards global connectivity and allowing passengers to stay connected across six continents.

Summary:

  • Delta Air Lines has received regulatory approval to expand its fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi service across trans-Pacific routes, with the rollout beginning later this month and continuing over the following weeks.
  • The expansion marks the final step towards free WiFi across Delta’s global route network, covering six continents and building on connectivity already available on more than 95% of its fleet.
  • The initiative aims to enhance the connected passenger experience by enabling travellers to work, stream, message and stay informed during flights, including some of the airline’s longest journeys.

With nearly 1,300 WiFi-equipped aircraft already flying around the world – more than 95% of its fleet – Delta Air Lines is preparing for the next chapter in its connectivity journey: the airline has reached a major milestone receiving regulatory approval to extend fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi across its trans-Pacific routes, bringing customers one step closer to staying connected around the globe. The rollout will begin later this month, expanding progressively across routes in the following weeks.

The trans-Pacific expansion marks the final step toward extending connectivity across Delta’s global route network. With WiFi activated across the Pacific, Delta will become the only U.S. global carrier to offer free WiFi across its global network, spanning six continents. That reach is especially meaningful on some of Delta’s longest flights, keeping customers connected whether they’re working, streaming, messaging or simply keeping up from the air.

Delta recognised early that customers increasingly expect to stay connected, informed, productive and entertained wherever they travel. As Delta continues to build on that vision, the airline is focused on strengthening the connected travel experience for customers around the world.
