Qantas launches next-gen trackable luggage range to provide “end-to-end travel convenience”

Qantas has collaborated with Australian brand July to launch next-gen trackable luggage through Apple’s Find My network or Google’s Find Hub. This is part of the airline’s efforts to enhance the digital travel experience.

Qantas – a Partner of the FTE Baggage Innovation Working Group – has collaborated with Australian brand July to launch next-gen trackable luggage. The new Qantas x July collection features July’s innovative CaseSafe tracking technology seamlessly integrated into the TSA lock system of its suitcases.

The next-generation technology offers capabilities through Apple’s Find My network or Google’s Find Hub, making it easier for customers to monitor their luggage throughout their journey. This cutting-edge advancement is designed to provide long-lasting battery life and seamless connectivity across global travel networks.

“We know our customers want to have access to leading technology and the latest information about their flight at their fingertips,” said Catriona Larritt, Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer. “By seamlessly connecting the July baggage to Apple and Google networks, our customers will have enhanced visibility of their baggage from departure to arrival. This partnership complements our existing baggage tracking features and follows upgrades to the Qantas app, including the introduction of the Australian Travel Declaration, as we continue to work to enhance the digital travel experience.”

Athan Didaskalou, Co-founder, July, commented: “This built in tracking technology allows travellers to set and forget – knowing that their luggage is always tracked and connected through every step of their journey gives them complete peace of mind.”
