  • Initiative aligns with Autism Awareness Month, enhancing passenger experience for those with sensory sensitivities or travel-related stress.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and in support of its ongoing commitment to creating an elevated and inclusive passenger experience, Nieuport Aviation has partnered with wellness practitioner and sound artist Bianca Lee, founder of Culture of Calm. Together, they are introducing simple, sound-based resources designed to help passengers feel more relaxed, grounded and supported while travelling through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

“The passenger experience guides everything we do,” said Eve Wiggins, Chief Operating Officer, Nieuport Aviation. “Creating an accessible passenger terminal means thinking beyond the physical journey, and in doing so ensuring Billy Bishop Airport is a place where all travellers feel welcome, supported and at ease.”

Culture of Calm is a sound-based wellness initiative that brings calming, sensory-aware sound experiences into high‑stimulation environments such as airports, workplaces and public spaces. Travellers can access these resources by scanning QR codes displayed on banners and stickers located in both the trans-border and domestic lounges.

“Culture of Calm was born from noticing what happens when people encounter even a small moment of calm in spaces that rarely offer it,” says Bianca Lee, Founder of Culture of Calm. “Airports can be fast-paced and overwhelming, particularly for those who experience sensory sensitivities or travel-related stress. Through this partnership, we’re introducing simple, accessible tools to help people feel more grounded, regulated and at ease as they move through their journey.”
