Edmonton International Airport redefines CX with new YEGplus loyalty programme

Edmonton International Airport is redefining CX with the launch of YEGplus, Canada’s first airport loyalty programme, allowing travellers to earn and redeem points on airport spending, parking and services.

Summary:

  • Edmonton International Airport launches YEGplus, Canada’s first airport-wide loyalty programme that rewards travellers for airport spend and engagement.
  • New free programme allows passengers to earn points on parking, retail purchases, surveys and referrals, with tiered rewards from Essential to Gold.
  • YEGplus replaces existing email-based rewards schemes, consolidating passenger engagement into a single digital loyalty and rewards platform.

Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is redefining the travel experience as the first Canadian airport to launch a loyalty programme for travellers – YEGplus – which turns airport purchases into points and rewards.

“Our passengers are at the heart of everything we do and YEGplus is a natural extension of that commitment,” said Carmen Donnelly, Vice President, Passenger Experience & Terminal Operations, YEG. “This programme is our way of recognising the travellers who choose to fly through our airport – rewarding their loyalty and building a deeper connection with the YEG community. We’re proud to offer something truly unique in Canadian aviation, and we can’t wait to see our members enjoy the benefits.”

YEGplus is free and easy to use, with travellers able to sign up and start earning points for every dollar spent at the airport. There are several ways for members to earn points on YEGplus, including booking parking services from YEG Parking or jetSet Parking, purchasing from participating vendors within the terminal, completing surveys or quizzes on the platform or referring a friend. The program uses a spend-based tiered structure in which members begin at the Essential level and can earn their way up to Silver and Gold. Each tier unlocks greater value, perks and upgrades. Members can redeem their points for parking upgrades, contest entries and promo cards — all accessible through a member-only portal.

YEGplus replaces YEG rewards and jetSet rewards, YEG’s existing email-based newsletter programme.
