JetBlue unveils BlueFirst domestic First Class experience with upgraded seats and technology

JetBlue is introducing BlueFirst, a new domestic First Class experience featuring specially designed seats, upgraded seatback technology, enhanced connectivity and premium amenities as part of its wider JetForward strategy.

Summary:

  • JetBlue has unveiled BlueFirst, its new domestic First Class experience, combining enhanced seating, premium amenities and upgraded inflight technology.
  • BlueFirst will feature specially designed Tuft & Needle seats, increased legroom, 13.3-inch Bluetooth-enabled seatback screens and in-seat power.
  • The new product forms part of JetBlue’s JetForward strategy to expand its premium offering and create a more elevated passenger experience across its network.

JetBlue has unveiled details of BlueFirst, the airline’s new domestic First Class experience. BlueFirst builds on the airline’s JetForward strategy by introducing specially designed seating for customers seeking added comfort, advanced seatback technology with seatback ordering, and premium amenities.

“Domestic First Class has become easy to predict,” said Joanna Geraghty, Chief Executive Officer, JetBlue. “We think it’s time for a fresh take. Customers are increasingly looking for more premium experiences, and BlueFirst gives them an elevated experience that feels distinctly JetBlue, with thoughtful touches, caring service and great value. It’s another way we’re bringing our JetForward strategy to life and giving customers more reasons to choose JetBlue.”

With the first aircraft debuting later this year, BlueFirst draws from the best of JetBlue’s hospitality combined with an elevated level of comfort, with highlights including:

  • Traditional First Class comfort is reimagined with specially designed seats featuring Tuft & Needle’s T&N Flex foam. These optimised plush seats, only available on JetBlue, are designed to offer each customer personalised support and responsive pressure relief throughout the flight.
  • Arranged in a two-by-two configuration, BlueFirst seating will offer five inches of recline and up to seven inches of additional legroom compared with JetBlue’s Main seats for a comfortable and relaxing travel experience.
  • Each seat will feature a 13.3-inch seatback screen complete with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing customers to pair their own wireless headphones directly to the seatback entertainment systems. These advanced screens will include JetBlue’s newest iteration of Blueprint by JetBlue, the airline’s personalised inflight experience platform.
  • Each seat will also feature in-seat USB-A, USB-C and 110VAC power to keep devices charged, and complimentary Fly-Fi high-speed internet continues to make streaming and staying connected easy from gate-to-gate.
  • On overnight flights, BlueFirst customers will receive a cosy blanket and snooze kit designed to make it easier to settle in, unwind and arrive feeling refreshed.

“Customers told us loud and clear that comfort matters most, so that’s where we started,” said Geraghty. “We worked with Tuft & Needle to create an added level of comfort that makes BlueFirst feel different from the moment you sit down.”

BlueFirst marks another milestone in JetBlue’s JetForward strategy, building on the recent opening of the airline’s second BlueHouse lounge which launched in Boston, and further expanding its portfolio of premium products to create more opportunities for customers to enjoy an elevated travel experience across its network.
