VINCI Airports deploys next-generation security lanes to transform screening at Budapest Airport

VINCI Airports has introduced next generation security lanes at Budapest Airport, enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency while advancing the airport’s digital transformation through faster, smarter screening.

Summary:

  • VINCI Airports enhances security at Budapest with next generation lanes designed to streamline passenger flow, reduce waiting times and improve comfort.
  • Advanced screening technology boosts efficiency and capacity, cutting processing times to under one minute and optimising tray handling.
  • Improved working environment for security agents through automation, ergonomic design and enhanced training, supported by VINCI’s global operational model.

The security flow approach of VINCI Airports – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has recently been embodied by state-of-the-art equipment combining innovation, operational excellence, and the sustainable transformation of airport infrastructure. At Budapest Airport, VINCI Airports’ operations teams are deploying a new generation of security lanes in a fully redesigned space, delivering tangible improvements, such as:

  • A smoother passenger journey: reduced waiting times and dedicated preparation areas to improve flow and comfort.
  • Improved efficiency and capacity: advanced technologies optimise tray processing, facilitating higher throughput and accelerating passenger procedures with processing times reduced to under one minute.
  • Improved working conditions for security agents: increased automation, reduced manual handling, better-designed workspaces, and advanced training programmes – already delivering very positive feedback.

This security flagship project led by VINCI Airports at Budapest Airport is the outcome of a teamwork done with colleagues from Edinburgh and London Gatwick to design new standards and implement the new area, demonstrating the strength of VINCI’s global model.
