Santiago de Chile Airport partners with Plaza Premium Group to open five new lounges

Plaza Premium Group is expanding into Chile with five new lounges at Santiago de Chile Airport, enhancing the domestic passenger experience while supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy across Latin America.

Summary:

  • Plaza Premium Group (PPG) will open five new lounges at Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, with the first three scheduled to open by the end of 2026.
  • The 24-hour lounges will serve domestic departures and arrivals in Terminal 1, offering premium hospitality designed to enhance the passenger experience.
  • The investment supports PPG’s long-term Latin America growth strategy while reinforcing Santiago’s position as a key regional aviation hub.

Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez Airport is to welcome the opening of five new lounges by Plaza Premium Group (PPG). Three lounges are expected to commence operations by the end of 2026, and two additional lounges are set to open in the first quarter of 2027.

The five Plaza Premium Lounges will be located airside in Terminal 1 within the domestic departures and arrivals area, operating 24 hours a day. Each lounge is designed to deliver comfort, functionality, and a seamless travel experience.

The expansion underscores PPG’s long-term commitment to Latin America, a key pillar in its global strategy. The project brings together cross-regional expertise, with integrated collaboration from its global network in Hong Kong, the United States, Brazil and Chile.

“More than expanding our geographic footprint, our arrival in Chile represents a long-term investment in one of the region’s most important markets,” said David Thompson, Senior Vice President, Latin America. “New projects are already under evaluation in the country, and we believe we will soon further strengthen our presence in this important market.”

This growth trajectory is expected to continue, with additional lounge openings planned for 2027.

PPG’s entry into Chile reflects both the growing importance of Santiago as a major aviation hub and its continued focus on high-potential markets. Through its globally recognised standards in hospitality, design and passenger experience, PPG will introduce premium lounge environments tailored to the evolving needs of modern travellers.

“The new lounges that PPG will open in our Domestic Terminal, which welcomed over 12 million passengers between Santiago and 17 cities in the country in 2025, are aligned with the focus on experience and hospitality that are pivotal for Santiago de Chile Airport, as they will provide high-quality areas, with a distinctive seal of Chilean identity,” said Nicolas Claude, CEO, Santiago de Chile Airport.
