Sydney Airport and Plaza Premium Group (PPG) will unveil a new 113-seat Plaza Premium Lounge in T2 Domestic in early December, giving all domestic travellers access to a premium pay-per-use lounge experience.

The lounge will be the first independent, non-airline-operated lounge in Sydney Airport’s domestic precinct, available to departing passengers regardless of airline, ticket class or frequent flyer status.

The announcement forms part of PPG’s $20 million Australian investment programme over the next 24 months and coincides with the group’s 10-year anniversary in Australia. The programme includes the new Sydney domestic lounge, a complete rebuild of its Brisbane International lounge and a new domestic lounge planned for Cairns Airport in early 2027.

The Sydney opening will coincide with the completion of Sydney Airport’s $200 million T2 redevelopment. With the new domestic lounge, PPG will operate six airport hospitality products at Sydney Airport, making it the group’s largest airport presence in Australia.

“We’re delighted to expand our partnership with Plaza Premium Group and welcome this new domestic lounge to T2,” said Sydney Airport Group Executive Commercial Mark Zaouk. “Plaza Premium Group has been a valued partner at Sydney Airport for a decade, consistently investing in high-quality hospitality experiences that enhance the customer journey. This new pay-per-use lounge gives travellers greater flexibility and convenience, whether they’re travelling for business or leisure, while reinforcing our commitment to offering premium experiences across the airport.”

Plaza Premium Group Chief Transformation Officer Mei Mei Song commented: “A decade ago, we introduced our independent lounge concept to Australia with a vision to make premium airport hospitality accessible to all travellers. Australia has become one of our most important growth markets globally, and this $20 million investment reaffirms our long-term commitment to the region. The new Sydney lounge will provide a welcoming space for travellers to work, relax, refresh and recharge, making a premium airport experience an easy part of domestic travel.”

Located beyond security in T2 Domestic, the lounge will feature contemporary design, quiet workspaces, high-speed connectivity, locally inspired food and beverage offerings, barista coffee and a full-service bar. It will be available to departing T2 passengers through advance bookings or walk-in access. Plaza Premium’s new domestic lounge at Sydney Airport’s T2 is scheduled to open in early December 2026.
