REDEFINING THE END-TO-END PASSENGER EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
Working with CBP, the airport plans to implement biometrics for all departing travellers at seven gates this year, as part of the biometric exit mandate.
FTE spoke to Miami International Airport, British Airways and U.S. CBP to explore the advantages and challenges relating to biometrics technology.
The initial phase of the trial will test four key steps in the passenger journey including automated check-in, bag drop, lounge access and boarding.
Orlando International will be the first US airport to fully deploy the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Biometric Entry and Exit Program.
During the end-to-end biometrics trial, personal data collected at the airport’s self-service bag drops will be recognised by new automated self-boarding gates.
